Police restore calm and arrest one person in connection with murder at Krofrom

After restoring order, the police detained suspect Nana Osei Gyeabour, also known as Point, for his alleged participation in the violent riots that left one person dead in Krofrom, a Kumasi neighborhood in the Ashanti Region.

On January 25, 2023, the suspect and a few others attacked the deceased victim, Kwabena Azure, and cut him many times with a machete.

Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the victim was pronounced dead.

The spot at Krofrom where the victim was attacked was besieged and set on fire on January 27, 2023 by a group of individuals who were thought to be friends of the dead.

The Ghana National Fire Service managed to put out the fire and Police have since restored calm, law and order in the area.

Investigation continues and a manhunt is on to get the remaining suspects who are on the run arrested to face justice.
