Police ‘stray bullet’ kills woman at Pigfarm

The family of a woman who died during an anti-robbery operation in Pigfarm, an Accra suburb, has received sympathy from the police.

The goal of the long-running operation is to apprehend a gang of criminals connected to several robberies.

Two gang members were taken into custody by police on Saturday, December 16, 2023, and efforts are still underway to apprehend the remaining members.

Unfortunately, a woman was inadvertently hit by a stray bullet that happened to stray during the Saturday morning operation.

Sadly, when they arrived at the hospital after being taken there, she was declared dead. The corpse has been placed in the morgue for examination and preservation.

The leadership of the Police Service has visited the bereaved family and will continue to support them through these difficult times.

“Once again, we wish to express our sincerest and deepest condolences to the bereaved family,” a statement from the Police said.
