Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Commissioner of Police, has been named by President Akufo-Addo as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police overseeing Operations.
This appointment is in accordance with the recommendation of the Police Council, which recognized COP Yohuno’s outstanding qualifications and commitment to service during today’s meeting.
The Commissioner is a renowned law enforcement official with over thirty years of experience who has held important positions within the Service, according to a statement released by the Director of Communications at Jubilee House.
COP Yohuno received congratulations from President Akufo-Addo on his well-deserved appointment and best wishes for carrying out his responsibilities.
Commissioner of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno has received congratulations from Inspector-General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare on his elevation to the position of deputy Inspector-General of Police by President Akufo-Addo.
“We wish you all the best as we continue to work together with our colleagues in the pursuit of peace, security, law and order in our beloved country,” the Inspector General of Police (IGP) said in a statement posted on the Ghana Police Service’s Facebook page.
He also gave the newly elevated deputy IGP the best wishes of the whole Police service.
Following a police council meeting on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, when his years of service were recognized, President Akufo-Addo announced in a statement that COP Yohuno has been promoted to deputy IGP.
