In order to lead the Ghanaian delegation to the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government, which is being held in Bissau, the capital of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, left Ghana on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
The upcoming MINUSMA exit from Mali, the ECOWAS Single Currency Program, and the political impasse in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea will all be topics of discussion at the summit of the heads of state.
Along with representatives from the Presidency and the Foreign Ministry, President Akufo-Addo was accompanied by Hon. Albert Kan Dapaah, Minister of National Security.
On Sunday, July 9, 2023, the President will return to Ghana. In his absence, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President, will carry out the President’s duties in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution.
