President Nana Akufo-Addo extended an invitation to the leadership of the Minority and Majority caucuses for a meeting today, Monday, May 20, according to the Minority in Parliament.
The hour-long discussion, according to the NDC MPs, was centered on matters of national significance.
The leadership of the Minority thanked the President for the invitation in a press release sent by Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader.
Dr. Forson emphasized the importance of the conversation and the chance it gave both parties to address important issues facing the country.
He said the meeting demonstrated the value of cooperation and communication between the various political groups in Parliament.
The Minority reaffirmed their will to interact positively with the administration on issues that have an impact on the country.
“At the invitation of the President, the leadership of Parliament, made up of both Caucuses, on Monday met with President Akufo-Addo at the Presidency.
“The meeting, which lasted for about an hour, was cordial and frank. It discussed issues of national concern.”
“The leadership of the Minority takes the opportunity to thank the President for the invitation,” the statement signed by Dr Forson stated.
