Dr. Ammi¬shaddai Owusu-Amoah, the Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority, has been fired by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, effective March 27, 2024.
In a recent event, the GRA Board was also dissolved and the President will now form a new Board.
Dr. Anthony Oteng-Gyasi, who served as the board chairman, was joined by Mr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, Madam Adelaide Ahwireng, Prof. Peter Ohene Kyei, Mr. Kwabena Boaten, Mrs. Dela Obeng-Sakyi, Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afari, and Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei as members of the dissolved GRA Board.
Ms. Julie Essiam, the Commissioner for the Support Services Division, has been named the next Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
Pearl Darko, who is now the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT)’s Deputy Director General in charge of operations, will assume the Commissioner position in charge of the GRA’s Support Services Division.
Following their statutory retirement, it is also anticipated that Edward Appenteng Gyamerah, the Commissioner of Domestic Tax and Revenue Division, and Alhaji Seidu Iddrisu Iddisah, the Commissioner of Customs Division, would be replaced by fresh appointments.
