Voters in the Guan Constituency have been urged by Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) vice presidential candidate, to hold the New Patriotic Party (NPP) responsible for their exclusion from the Eighth Parliament.

During her two-day campaign visit in the Oti Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang spoke to Likpe locals Thursday. She stressed that the December 7 elections present a chance to address the injustices that have been perpetrated on the people of the traditional areas of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe, and Lolobi (SALL).

She claimed that the Constituency has been neglected in terms of development projects, such as roads, schools, water, and health facilities, and she chastised the ruling party for failing to meet these requirements.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang expressed shock that the NPP could campaign in the Constituency, erecting flags and posters, after denying the people representation in Parliament for four years.

“They turned their backs on you, denying your right to representation, and all legal efforts by the NDC to seek justice proved futile.

Now election time has come, and it is your chance to make amends,” she said.

The vice presidential candidate for the NDC alleged that the NPP was using vote-buying strategies, like as giving out food and cash, to sway voters.

In order to ensure the constituency’s future, she advised the populace to reject any inducements and instead vote for John Dramani Mahama and the NDC parliamentary candidates.

“The NDC is dedicated to making up for this injustice and providing you with the advancement you are due.

It’s time to make your voice heard your vote is your voice,” she said.
