Residents of Kwapia in the Adansi North district were educated by the PURC’s Ashanti Regional Office in an effort to bring the Commission’s services closer to their homes.
The Commission’s history, the types of complaints that can be filed with it, and the procedures for acquiring meters were explained to the residents. Additionally, the Commission emphasized to the citizens the importance of avoiding any unlawful connections and accepting responsibility for timely power bill payment.
On the other hand, the residents voiced complaints regarding high electricity costs, non-billing, and supply outages. However, by use of a complaint desk, the office reassured the citizens of the Commission’s determination to guarantee that their complaints receive the required attention.
The Ashanti Regional Office of the PURC is poised to take continuous responsible regulatory steps to ensure that the services of the Commission are strategically positioned in the region.
