According to the Minority in Parliament, President Akufo-Addo’s resignation would be better for Ghana than his most recent ministry reshuffle.
Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson said that Akufo-Addo’s resignation is the best way to relieve the agony and suffering that Ghanaians are going through.
President Akufo-Addo removed Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta from his position on February 14, a major ministerial upheaval that affected 13 current ministers of state, including 10 cabinet members and 2 regional ministers.
In a statement released that same day, Dr. Forson stated the NDC Minority’s opinion that the resignations of Vice President Alhaji Bawumia and President Akufo-Addo would be the best way to alleviate the pain and suffering of Ghanaians.
“The NDC Minority believes that the best way to end the suffering and hardships of Ghanaians would have been for both President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Alhaji Bawumia to resign.”
“For example, he rebuffed nearly 100 NPP Members of Parliament who demanded the immediate resignation of outgoing Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta,” he added.
The Minority Leader claimed that whenever the topic of a reshuffle was brought up for debate, President Akufo-Addo had consistently shown defiance and stubbornness.
