Dominic Nitiwul, the minister of defense, has pleaded with Ghanaians to respect security officers everywhere.
He believes that everyone will greatly profit from it.
The defence minister stated that unfortunate incidents like the one in Ashiaman do happen and that his organization is working to guarantee peace and quiet.
Addressing in an interview following his meeting with the Defence Committee and some Ghanaian military personnel, he stated; “incidences like this in the life of the country do happen, we are shaping up a country and we are going to have some of these regrettable incidences happening. But I will still appeal to the people of Ghana to be very respectful of people in uniform, it will help all of us but I will not say anything until the committee itself and we have gone on Thursday to visit the place and ascertain for ourselves.”
The fact that it is still continuing and we don’t want to compromise with it is one of the reasons we aren’t leaving right away, so we gave our coworkers the assignment to tone down the remark.
All we ask for is tranquility in Ghana.
Kennedy Agyapong, the chairman of the defense committee, said the minister apologized on behalf of GAF and would tour the region on Thursday of the following week.
Following the murder of one of their own on Saturday morning, the military stormed Ashaiman and brutalized innocent citizens.
The event occurred early on March 7, 2023, in Ashaiman’s Official Town during a significant rainfall.
According to reports, residents were compelled to remain in their lodgings until the situation was under control.
