A group identifying as the Alliance for Footsoldiers Advocacy (AFFA) has expressed dissatisfaction with Ken Ofori-Atta, a former finance minister, being named the advocacy’s senior executive secretary.
Speaking in an interview with Prince Nii Ade (Dok Cash) on Otec FM’s flagship program Dwaberem, the group’s executive secretary, Kwaku Takyi Adomako, claimed that Mr. Ofori-Atta hasn’t been well-liked by Ghanaians over certain economic decisions.
He asserts that although the President is free to name anyone he sees fit to serve in his administration, doing so in this way is dishonest.
Mr. Adomako pointed out that letting Mr. Ofori-Atta rest would have been the wisest course of action for the President.
They consider this decision to be a betrayal of Ghanaians.
“The position he has been given is even more significant than that of the Finance Minister; he will be making more decisions than the current minister. Where did this position come from? We, the NPP foot soldiers, are not happy. We understand you have the right to appoint, but some appointments are unnecessary. Therefore, the President should revoke this appointment.”
