Richard Kings Atikpo, the leader of Legon Cities and the current Council of State representative for the Oti Region, was re-elected with a landslide win.

He received 16 of the 18 total votes.

Former Deputy Minister for the Volta and Oti Regions Maxwell Quophy Blagoge was among the seven other candidates who were beaten by Mr. Atikpo.

The President of Ghana is advised on subjects of national importance by the Council of State, and Atikpo’s knowledge and perspectives will surely help the council function more effectively.

The Oti Region views his retention as a step in the right direction because he provides stability and continuity to the council’s activities.

In overcoming upcoming obstacles and making sure that the people’s opinions are heard nationally, his leadership will be essential.
