Rojo Mettle-Nunoo, one of the key witnesses in former president John Mahama’s petition for the 2020 election, asserts that Dr. Kwabena Duffuor is the ideal candidate to lead the NDC and ultimately help the nation overcome its “current challenges.”

He claims that the former Finance Minister is an upright man and that he is the one who the NDC’s grassroots and Ghana currently require.

“The current challenges of governance in the country border on leadership and also on the aspirations of Ghanaians and protecting the vulnerable and I seriously believe that Dr Kwabena Duffour is the best person to achieve that”, he disclosed this in interview with Citi FM monitored by Ghanatodayonline.com.

Rojo Mettle-Nunoo claimed that Dr. Kwabena Duffuor had a superior track record than all of the other candidates for the party’s flagbearership.

“His track record as Governor of the Bank of Ghana and other positions he had occupied made Rawlings trust him to make him his Finance Minister. As Minister of Finance, Mills also recognized him and due to his intellect, the Mills government never borrowed from any external source”.

“He is a man of integrity, and Ghana and the NDC’s grassroots need him right now. He understands macroeconomics and the economy… Dr. Kwabena Duffuor is the greatest candidate to lead us (Ghana) out of this economic quagmire”.

The grassroots are aware of his qualifications and abilities, and once given the go-ahead, M. Mettle-Nunoo emphasized, “He will change the economic fortunes of the country.”

Dr. Kwabena Duffuor filed forms on Thursday in preparation for his run for the NDC’s presidential nomination.

Election day is scheduled for May 13.
