President-elect John Dramani Mahama has received congratulations from Russian President Vladimir Putin for his resounding win in the just finished general elections of 2024.
Putin emphasized the two countries’ longstanding bilateral partnership and reaffirmed his commitment to preserving and advancing their cordial relations in a letter to Mahama.
Putin expressed confidence in Mahama’s future government, saying the President-Elect’s tenure as Head of State will strengthen the two nations’ current collaboration in a number of areas.
“Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of Your election as the President of the Republic of Ghana. The Russian-Ghanaian relations have traditionally been of a friendly nature. I believe that Your work as the Head of State will contribute to the further development of a mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in various fields,” the letter said.
In an act of good sportsmanship, Putin prayed for Mahama’s health and wished him and his new administration luck.
“I wish you every success as well as good health and wellbeing.”
