Andrew Clocanas, the contractor who oversaw the contentious Saglemi Affordable Housing Project, reportedly passed away at his Airport Residential Apartment.
According to reports, on Saturday, October 21, his remains were discovered in his bathroom beneath a shower. The Lashibi Funeral Home has since received the lifeless body.
In the meantime, the Ghana Police Service has started looking into his death and has gone to his flat to question several people.
For their alleged involvement in a financial loss to the state, the Clocanas and other defendants are on trial.
Alhaji Ziblim Yakubu, Executive Chairman of Constructora OAS Ghana Limited (4th Accused), Dr. Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah, a former Minister of Water Resources, Works, and Housing, Nouvi Tetteh Angelo, Chief Executive Officer and Owner of Ridge Management Solutions Ghana Limited (5th Accused), and Dr. Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah are the other defendants.
Against them are 70 charges. They are accused of intentionally causing the state to lose more money than the $200 million allocated for the project.
They all entered a not guilty plea and were each given bail.
