Sammy Awuku storms Akuapem North constituency with maiden edition of Ofie Walk

Numerous residents of the Akuapem North Constituency have made it clear that Mr. Samuel Awuku, the Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) and prospective parliamentary candidate for the Akuapem North Constituency, is the person they want to represent them in parliament in 2024.

On Friday, August 4, 2023, a sizable crowd gathered organizers and constituents for the inaugural edition of the Ofie Mega Health Walk in the Constituency, demonstrating once more the fervent support the charismatic Awuku enjoys in the constituency.

Shouts of approval and scurrying to get a look of him or engage with him showed how much affection and support he has as he works to become the constituency’s representative.

As hundreds of voters, particularly young people, marched beside the Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), the health walk marked yet another turning point in the history of the Akuapem North Constituency.

The event attracted several dignitaries including the Regional Chairman of the party, John Konadu, and other regional executives, CEOs, Deputy CEOs and other dignitaries, including Kwaku Tebi, the Deputy CEO of Ghana Post, Deputy Director of the NLA, Ms Anna, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Development Company, Kojo Odame Antwi as well as celebrities including, Edem, Kalybos, Bismark the Joke and Prince David Osei.

Several thousand young people wearing T-shirts with the words Sammi Awuku and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as well as other inscriptions showing support for Mr. Awuku joined in the walk, which began at the Amanokrom Park and ended at the Offie High Street in Akropong.

In order to show that the NPP is still ready and preparing for another electoral campaign and triumph in 2024, Mr. Awuku thanked the youth for turning up in such large numbers.

Many of the young people expressed their happiness over the Ofie Mega Health Walk and stated that they anticipated Mr. Sammi Awuku’s involvement into constituency politics would reenergize their community.

They vowed to stand by Mr. Awuku under all circumstances and support him to raise the party’s standing in the Constituency.

 

Mr. Awuku, who was clearly animated, took turns greeting each of these individuals and shaking their hands as he traveled from shop to shop on the streets.

The Offie Mega Walk, which is now in its first edition, is anticipated to become an annual event that draws a sizable crowd.

The party would support the chiefs and people as they get ready to celebrate this year’s Ovim and Odwira festivals, Mr. Awuku hinted.
