Ashanti Region School Feeding Caterers that provide school meals have vowed to strike out against the government over unpaid debt.
The media was informed by the disgruntled caterers that they have not received payment for three terms.
They conveyed their discontent with the way the current administration has treated them, even though they are part of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
If the caterers’ arrears are not paid on time, they have threatened to go on the streets in protest.
“School feeding caterers are public servants like teachers, Police, Doctors, nurses and other employees that provide state services but we are being discriminated against. Can government refuse to pay teachers for even one month, why are they doing the opposite when it comes to caterers? A contract is a contract and our human rights must be abused.”
The caterers have also threatened to embark on a nationwide demonstration if their arrears are not paid as early as possible.
