The Western North Region’s Sefwi Akontombra constituents have hailed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a development beacon and urged Ghanaians to extend the party’s mandate in the next general elections.
Support was shown during a campaign visit by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the NPP, who is lovingly referred to as “Napo.”
In order to spread the NPP’s message of optimism and encourage people to vote for the party in the elections scheduled for December 7, Dr. Prempeh has been traveling across the Western Region.
Bibiani-Anhwiaso Bekwai, Sefwi Wiawso, Bia East and West, Sefwi Juaboso, Suaman, Aowin, Bodi, and Sefwi Akontombra were among the important constituencies that Dr. Prempeh visited during his journey.
The NPP has made significant contributions to local development, particularly in Sefwi Akontombra, which chiefs and locals in these places have praised as evidence of the party’s dedication.
Residents claim to have personally seen the impact of the NPP’s accomplishments since the party defeated the NDC in 2016 and are resolved to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the presidential race.
Dr. Prempeh thanked the chiefs and people of Bopa and Nsawura for their unwavering support and emphasized the NPP’s track record of progress in his speech.
In particular, he called on voters to re-elect Mr. Alex Tetteh, the Sefwi Akontombra MP, whose projects, such as the construction of a new community center in Nsawura, have increased the NPP’s popularity in the region.
Dr. Prempeh also urged supporters to contrast the NPP’s accomplishments with those of other parties, stressing that real advancements in the lives of common people are what characterize a government that is genuinely people-centered.
Party leaders and local elders praised Mr. Alex Tetteh for attracting both loyalists and the region’s drifting votes to the NPP.
Mr. Tetteh said he was hopeful about keeping the seat in Akontombra and pledged to keep up his revolutionary efforts for his constituents and try to “break the 8”.
In their speeches, Dr. Kwaku Afiriyie and Mr. Rockey Joojo Obeng, the Western North Regional Minister, emphasized the importance of development and called for sustained support for the NPP’s plans for the area and the country.
