Shatta Wale fined Ghc 2,000 or to serve 3 months jail over publication of false news

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly referred to as Shatta Wale has been found guilty to publication of fake news.

He has been fined GHS2,000 with the aid of using the Accra Circuit Court. Shatta Wale in October ultimate 12 months falsely claimed he have been attacked and died after a Prophet had prophesied his loss of life at the stated day.

Shatta Wale had in advance pleaded now no longer responsible to the offence however modified his plea in court today. His attorneys pleaded with the court to have mercy on him and deliver him a lenient sentence.

The court, presided over through Emmanuel Essandoh, slapped Shatta Wale with the fine after the artiste pleaded responsible. He is to serve 3 months in jail if he fails to pay the fine.
