Ghana’s economy is in crisis and its people are suffering greatly, according to President John Dramani Mahama, who has voiced his profound concern over the country’s situation.
In his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of his second term, which he gave in Parliament on Thursday, February 27, he emphasized the necessity for immediate action to combat the economic crisis.
“The state of our nation is not good. Our economy is in crisis and our people are suffering,” President Mahama said.
He ascribed the current problems to a number of economic issues, such as a faltering private sector, high debt levels, and growing inflation.
He claims that many Ghanaians are now experiencing higher unemployment and a drop in their level of living as a result of these causes.
President Mahama promised the country and Parliament that his administration will act decisively to stabilize the economy.
He emphasized the necessity of strategic strategies to support regional industries, enhance revenue production, and efficiently manage the national debt.
“We cannot ignore our people’s hardships. He promised, “My administration is dedicated to enacting radical reforms that will bring relief to households and businesses and restore economic stability.”
