President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo recently asserted that he inherited President John Dramani Mahama’s fiscal mess. The major opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has responded.

The NDC claims that the president does not comprehend economics if, after seven years in office, he continues to place the responsibility on his predecessor.

“So,” he asserted, “the president cannot blame anybody for the mess he has created.”

“If the president cares to know, the NDC lost power in 2016 and he assumed office in 2017.

“So what is the rationale in still blaming your predecessor for the mess you have created because of your mismanagement?”

At the recently concluded 66th anniversary celebration of Ghana’s freedom hosted at Adaklu in the Volta Region on Monday, March 6, 2023, Ako Gunn raised this question in response to the president’s remark.

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, Ako Gunn was speaking during the midday news segment on Accra 100.5 FM monitored by Ghanatodayonline.com.

The president must have some sort of blindness, according to the NDC’s deputy national communications officer, for him to have said that.

He asserts that the president is contrasting pears and peaches.

He emphasized that what had happened during the president’s term was clearly black and white.
