John Dramani Mahama, the former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for recent comments that questioned the NDC’s capacity to run a 24-hour economy because of previous energy difficulties.
During his Western Regional visit, Mr. Mahama addressed a mini-rally in Ellembelle and denied Akufo-Addo’s assertions that the NDC was unable to address Ghana’s power issue, or “dumsor,” prior to his exit in 2016.
He called the claims false and insisted that the NDC completely fixed the problem before the conclusion of its tenure, making sure there was no load shedding that year.
Mahama cited Proverbs 19:9, which warns that “liars will not go to heaven,” and urged the President to desist from misleading Ghanaians about the history of the energy crisis.
“The claims that the NDC did not solve the power crisis before leaving office are blatant lies.
Mahama said, “If President Akufo-Addo wants to make it to heaven, he must stop spreading falsehoods.”
He reaffirmed the NDC’s dedication to tackling national issues and underlined that his administration put out great effort to remedy the electricity situation, which he claimed was the consequence of years of disregard by succeeding administrations.
In addition, Mr. Mahama urged Ghanaians to ignore political misinformation and concentrate on the facts as the nation gets closer to the elections in December.
As part of his larger drive to interact with voters throughout the Western Region, Mahama held a mini-rally in Ellembelle to discuss his plans to address the country’s urgent issues and bring back economic stability.
