A contractor for the Suame Interchange project, Rango Construction Company Limited, claims that some scrap dealers at Suame Magazine in the Ashanti Region fatally stabbed an official of the company.

The security official who died was apparently stabbed after a fight broke out between several junk dealers and the construction company employees.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Garages, Mr. Lukman Mohammed Nuhu Appiadu, disclosed to OTEC News Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng on Friday, May 30, 2024, that the scrap dealers had illegally utilized a road that was still under construction, resulting in the destruction of a recently constructed but worn-out road in the area.

According to Mr. Lukman, the action caused several confrontations between the junk dealers and the employees.

He continued by saying that the junk dealers then organized and returned to the scene to attack the workers, seriously hurting the security guard.

However, several locals disclosed that the security official was stabbed during the incident and died at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Since then, the Suame Divisional Police Command has been notified of the situation so that investigations can begin.
