Ansu Kumi, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has pledged to build a state-of-the-art market complex for vendors in the Bosoma Market.
The MCE claims that the initiative, which is expected to cost between GH¢16 million and GH¢17 million, will give traders access to a secure and favorable trading environment.
Among other things, the facility will have banking halls, a creche, a police post, a fire service station, restrooms, and a health center.
In an exclusive interview with Metro TV, the MCE guaranteed that the project will be finished in six months.
He underlined that the merchants’ security and safety are of utmost importance, and that the new market complex will allay their worries.
The traders have expressed relief and thanks for the MCE’s guarantee, as they have been operating under high tension power lines and towers.
In order to conduct business in a secure atmosphere, they pleaded with the authorities to speed the project’s completion.
The community and traders have embraced the MCE’s promise, and everyone is excitedly anticipating the project’s completion.
