Police in Kuntenase, in the Ashanti Region’s Bosomtwe District, shot and killed a man they believed to be an armed robber.
The catastrophe happened late on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

In an interview with Ghanatodayonline reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng, a victim of the robbery incident whose name was withheld exposed that the thieves were scaring the locals when the police arrived, brandishing pistols and machetes.
“The police quickly responded to the distress call and engaged the robbers in a shootout. One of the suspects was shot and killed, while the other three managed to escape,”
The unidentified deceased suspect’s remains have been sent to the Pramso government hospital so that additional investigation can be conducted.
After verifying the occurrence to Ghanatodayonline.com, a trustworthy source at the Kuntenase police station stated that the three additional suspects who are still at large are being sought by the police.
In the meantime, Hon. J. K. Amankwaa, the Assembly Member for the Kuntenase Electoral Area, claimed that armed robbers had been terrorizing residents for a while now. He claimed that this had an impact on locals’ livelihoods and called for an immediate intervention.
Additionally, he has pleaded with anyone who knows the whereabouts of the three suspects to come forward and help apprehend them.
