Take utmost refuge in God in all turbulent times – Majority Leader urges Christians

The Majority Leader/Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, on Saturday 2nd day of September, 2023, joined the Ministers of God, the Congregants and a host of other dignitaries as the Special Guest of Honour for the Induction Service of the new Superintendent Minister of the Ashanti East Region of the Assemblies of God-Ghana, Rev Dr. Emmanuel Kwasi Gyasi, at the Lighthouse Assemblies of God Temple, Akwatialine in Kumasi.

Delivering his address, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu stated that, even the effects of COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war have been devastating on the nation’s economy, we must admit that the nation, through her politicians, the clergy, religious leaders, businessmen, professionals, and individuals has, consciously and unconsciously, inflicted some problems on ourselves. And asked for prayer of the faithful to continuously and consistently direct the path of our nation.

In accordance with the constitution of the church, and subject to the results of the elections held at the Church’s last Annual General Meeting, Rev Dr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Gyasi was inducted into office as the Regional Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Ashanti East Region.

In administering the Oaths of Office, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, and the Vice Chairman of the Africa, Region of the Church, Rev Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, charged the newly inducted Superintendent of the Ashanti East Region to forge ahead with the protection, and in the name and guidance, of God, to work assiduously towards the attainment of the church’s goal of planting 300,000 branches in Africa and 1,000,000 in the world as a whole.

The Majority Leader and his wife, Mrs Irene Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, made a donation of Ghc10,000 towards the Church’s Foundation in support of its Evangelism.
