The GFA Congress has approved a presidential nomination cost of GHC50,000

Without any opposition, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Congress unanimously accepted a new presidential nomination cost of GHC50,000.

The decision was made after the GFA Elections Committee suggested raising the fees due to the rising costs of election management.

Prosper Harrison Addo, the General Secretary of the GFA, revealed the significant increase in the nomination price for presidential contenders in a statement issued on June 24.

When compared to the GHC5,000 cost levied at the most recent elections, which were held in 2019, the projected figure implies a huge 900% rise.

The GFA emphasizes the rising costs associated with holding the elections in order to support the need for the price increase.

These costs have clearly increased since the previous elections and include logistics, travel, and lodging.
The GFA is confident that the increased nomination fee will contribute to defraying these escalating expenses and guaranteeing the success of the future event.

As of right now, the GHC50,000 nomination fee is in force, and contenders for the GFA presidency must now satisfy the updated financial criteria in order to run in the upcoming elections.
