As the first nominee to finish her vetting in record time before the Appointments Committee of Parliament, Linda Akweley Ocloo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate, has made history.
In contrast to other nominees who were subjected to extensive interrogation, the Shai-Osudoku MP’s appearance before the committee on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, lasted less than ten minutes.
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the nominee for defense minister, was subjected to a five-hour questioning by the committee earlier in the day.
Ocloo’s vetting, however, was noticeably quick because she wasn’t questioned in-depth.
Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the minority leader, said the nominee’s ability was demonstrated by the large delegation that accompanied her.
Before formally discharging her, Bernard Ahiafor, the head of the committee, also gave thanks to her guests.
If accepted, Linda Akweley Ocloo is anticipated to concentrate on improving public services in the Greater Accra Region, urban development, and youth empowerment.
