Following a violent altercation at Bobo Shanti, a well-known local pub, that left two individuals dead and the town in shock, tensions are running high in Nkawkaw, according to oyerepafmonline.com.
During a dispute over cigarettes, a pub waiter is said to have fatally stabbed Baba Salau, the first victim, who was identified as being in his 30s.
Witnesses said the argument swiftly became violent and evolved into a fight.
Tragically, after learning of the stabbing, a well-known meat vendor who was well-known in the community for selling “chinchinga” (kebabs) also passed away.
According to reports, the man lost his kid in a similar stabbing event at the same spot two years ago.
Residents are furious over the double tragedy and are demanding that Bobo Shanti, a location frequently linked to drug use, violence, and public unrest, be immediately closed and demolished.
In an attempt to express their displeasure, some irate residents have already started to damage establishments.
Since then, the body of Baba Salau has been moved to the Holy Family Hospital Mortuary in Nkawkaw.
Meanwhile, authorities said a manhunt has been started to apprehend the stabbing suspect, who is presently at large.
