John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) presidential candidate, has asked Ghanaians to vote against Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the country’s approaching elections on December 7 because he claims that his leadership has caused economic hardship.
As part of his campaign visit of the Western North Region, Mahama spoke at a community engagement in Enchi, which is in the Aowin Constituency. He emphasized that a victory for the NDC would signal the start of the nation’s economic recovery.
He promised that the country’s resources would be managed responsibly thanks to the NDC.
Speaking to a group of supporters, Mahama declared that supporting Dr. Bawumia, the nominee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), would be a vote in favor of ongoing economic difficulties and inadequate money management.
He criticized how the present government was managing the nation’s finances and attributed the economic difficulties to the vice president’s being chairman of the Economic Management Team.
“A vote for Bawumia means you are happy with the mismanagement of our finances, our increased debt stock, and the current suffering. If you are dissatisfied with the current state of affairs, you must vote them out of office,” Mahama told the crowd.
The former president cited the NPP government’s shortcomings, including its incapacity to adequately handle the country’s persistent economic problems.
He accused Dr. Bawumia of being a part of the deteriorating economic scenario and emphasized his position as Chairman of the Economic Management Team.
Mahama also conveyed empathy for the challenges Ghanaians face as a result of the economy’s dire situation, emphasizing that even entrepreneurs are encountering slow growth.
He promised greater economic prospects for the nation and reassured citizens that an NDC-led administration would bring about a turnaround.
Mahama reaffirmed his message of optimism and rebirth as he proceeded with his campaign tour, urging voters to reject the current administration’s economic incompetence and make the correct decision for Ghana’s future.
