Kennedy Agyapong has promised to exert every effort to guarantee that his brother wins the Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary ticket.

As a result, he has promised to financially support Ralph Opoku Agyapong’s campaign to unseat incumbent Francis Asenso-Boakye in the primaries on November 27.

During a recent campaign stop, Agyapong addressed delegates, saying, “Don’t vote for someone who would become pompous and forget his roots.” What return on your long-term investment in this party have you received?”

“I will be like a watchman over him and scrutinize how he interacts with you. Vote for my younger brother and see the amount of development that will reach Bantama,” he stressed.

On the issue of giving voters money, he alleged that Asenso-Boakye had planned to give delegates 5,000 Ghana cedis but that he was ready to pay more.

“He says he is going to pay 5,000 cedis, tell him to bring it on; I will show him that I got real money. They come and deceive you…. On November 4, they deployed threats and money, but how much of that money is left today?

“Time and God bring humility to even the most powerful leaders.” Since Asenso is rude, people want me to assist my brother in running, even though I am not in Bantama. It’s not a good impression, but I don’t know and I don’t belong here,” he continued.

Delegates from the party in constituencies with sitting Members of Parliament will choose parliamentary candidates for the general election of 2024 on January 27, 2023, setting up a showdown between Ralph Agyapong and Asenso-Boakye.
