The preliminary results for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) this year, which was taken by school and private students, have been made public by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
According to WAEC, school candidates’ results will be forwarded to their respective schools by means of the district, municipal, and/or metropolitan directors of education.
However, private candidates can view their results at www.waecgh.org, the Council’s official website.
The statement, which was signed by WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, was dated November 9, 2023.
“School candidates who so desire may also access their results online at the Council’s website.”
Nevertheless, WAEC revealed that 22,270 students’ scripts in particular courses are presently being held as allegations of widespread cheating are looked at.
The outcomes of the investigations can be canceled or made public, according to the statement.
All parties have been cautioned by WAEC to be wary of anyone who offer to enhance results in exchange for a fee.
“Candidates are urged to remember that WAEC results are secure and can be verified for authenticity,” the Council added.
