The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has the support of the Greater Accra House of Chiefs, which believes he can effectively govern the nation as president.

According to the House of Chiefs, Dr. Bawumia has the capacity to outperform his forebears and have a beneficial effect on the nation.

As part of his nationwide engagement with key stakeholders, Dr. Bawumia visited the traditional leaders at the Regional House of Chiefs’ Dodowa premises on Tuesday, June 4. Oboade Notse King Professor Odaifio Welentsi III, the Paramount Chief of Nungua and Acting President of the Greater Accra House of Chiefs, expressed these sentiments during the meeting.

He emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s ability to remain calm and collected will be a valuable quality in a leader and asked him to keep his composure.

The House of Chiefs claims that Dr. Bawumia’s leadership style differs from the extreme and violent methods that have historically been associated with certain leaders.

They think his cool head will help him make wise choices that will benefit the nation and its people.

“We state with all emphasis that when it comes to effective leadership, you don’t have to be radical, violent, or pompous to be a bold leader. Being a bold leader is not about brawls, but rather brains.”

“Having observed you from afar, we believe you have a lot of potential to offer this country. Do not disappoint, because your records will always be there – they will be used to evaluate you.”

“On selfless leadership, we have less to say about you. Your Excellency, you are an accomplished man. You’re a successful man. Therefore, we are convinced you will not fail the test when it comes to selfless leadership,” he stated.

The Greater Accra House of Chiefs was praised by Dr. Bawumia for their support, and he gave them his word that if elected president, he would not let the nation down.

As part of his efforts to move Ghana ahead, he also asked for their insight and direction.
