A few vendors at the Dome Market in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency have publicly voiced their dislike of Sarah Adwoa Safo, the current Member of Parliament (MP).

This occurred on Thursday, October 27, 2023, during the MP’s tour to the Dome market.

The traders took advantage of the MP’s visit to the market to voice their dissatisfaction with their MP, who had been missing from Parliament for an extended period of time.

The market women can be seen hooting and making hand motions in a widely shared video while the MP walked around shaking hands with vendors.

Some of the market women clapped their hands and screamed, “We want change, Adwoa Safo we don’t want you again, disappointment.”

One of the most talked-about issues in the nation in 2022 was Adwoa Safo’s exclusion from the parliament, which caused division among the house and party. The conversation followed her departure from the nation in November 2021.

The Speaker of Parliament and the Majority Leader argued in October 2022 on whether or not to put Adwoa Safo’s fate up for vote.

The report of the Privileges Committee is not final, according to Alban Bagbin.

The 40-year-old’s seat should be deemed vacant, according to the Privileges Committee’s recommendation, since she neglected to give a reason for her absence.

As the Speaker delivered the much awaited decision, she pointed out that the Committee’s report has to be presented to the entire House before a vote can be taken.

It was not well received by the Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu. The majority leader, who also happens to be a Suame MP, expressed regret and inconsistency about the decision.

The public, particularly her constituents who were unclear of her status in the area and its impact on development, was divided regarding her motivation.

But after returning from the US, Adwoa Safo formally started her parliamentary duties on November 11, 2022.

President Akufo-Addo removed her from her position as Gender Minister in July of last year.

Sarah Adwoa Safo apologized to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in September of this year for the controversies she caused while she was away from her parliamentary responsibilities for a considerable amount of time.
