The completion of several significant projects is scheduled for the end of the year, such as the Second Phase of the Kejetia Central Market Redevelopment Project, the Okomfo Anokye Maternity Block, and the Kumasi International Airport.

On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, following his appointment by the president, Finance Minister Dr. Adams disclosed this information during a courtesy call with the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

“His Exellency the president has asked me to bring assurances to you, about his commitment to completing key projects government has embarked on”.

“Maternity block at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, the Kumasi International Airport, Kejetia market, are all projects the president has given us directive to bring attention to them and therefore the ministry is making efforts O find money to complete the projects”.

He did, however, disclose that the projects had been put on hold because of the nation’s financial difficulties, which compelled it to ask the IMF for assistance.

He stated that in spite of the difficulties, the government is prepared to restart and expedite all unfinished projects.
