The government led by the Education Ministry has denied claim to cancel the Teachers and Nurses Training allowance.

There have been rumors that the government cannot afford to pay teachers’ and nurses’ trainees’ allowances. These rumors have been attributed to the minister of education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.

The administration is reportedly thinking about completely eliminating the allowances, according to the news report.

But in a statement signed by Kwasi Kwarteng, the ministry’s public relations officer, the comment ascribed to the minister was deemed “categorically false and unfounded.”

“We understand the importance of supporting and prioritizing the training of teachers, and the government remains committed to providing necessary financial assistance in these areas.” the statement said.

The statement asked the public to rely on reliable and verifiable information from official sources for updates on issues relating to education and healthcare, such as the Ministry of Education, official press releases, and reputable news sites.
