In relation to Cecilia Abena Dapaah’s bank accounts, which have been frozen as a result of a Special Prosecutor’s order, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has rejected providing or exposing any information or specifics.

Therefore, the OSP has warned the general public to reject media reports on allegedly leaked bank balances.

The denial follows claims that the OSP had purportedly observed an amount of $5 million entering her account over time and had also found GH48 million in one of the bank accounts belonging to the former minister.

In addition, the reports claimed that she had a cash balance of GHS 700,000 and investments of GHS 1 million on another account.

In the meantime, GHS2,730,000 and about $590,000 in cash were discovered at the private residence of the disgraced former Sanitation and Water Resources Minister.

The finding was uncovered during a search of the former minister’s home in Abelenkpe by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

The money has been taken by the OSP as proof for the continuing inquiry into the origin of her wealth.

The former Akufo-Addo appointee’s cedi and dollar accounts have since been frozen by the OSP while they conduct more investigations.

On Thursday, August 17, the Accra High Court will make a decision regarding Cecilia Dapaah’s accounts being frozen.

According to sources with knowledge of the situation, the OSP is treating the probe seriously.
