Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) has been defended by Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, who has emphasized that the ongoing investigations against members of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government are not motivated by politics but rather by the recovery of stolen state funds.

On Friday, June 13, 2025, Dr. Ayine denied accusations that the effort is a partisan witch hunt during a press briefing.

He asserts that the probes are motivated by constitutional obligation rather than political loyalty.

“What we are doing is simply to account to the people of Ghana. I will continue to account to the good people of Ghana through press briefing,” he declared.

He added that in his public remarks, none of the people detained or looked at under ORAL had been connected to any political party.

Rather, he maintained that the measures are solely grounded in proof of misconduct.

“In my press briefings, I have not connected any political party to the people that I arrest and investigate, so the idea of going [after anyone] is not to make any political party look bad or any faction in the Ghanaian politics look bad, we have a duty to account to the people of this country,” he stated.
