Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, has made a plea to the Seventh Day Adventist Church to spearhead the campaign to elect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next President of Ghana in the elections scheduled for December.
God has ordered the SDA church to determine this year’s elections for Mahamudu Bawumia, according to Wontumi, who also believes that the church and its members have important responsibilities to play, particularly because December 7th falls on a Saturday, which is a day of worship for the church.
As part of his district campaign trip, Chairman Wontumi hinted that the election’s Saturday date is not coincidental when he spoke at the Mampongten SDA CHURCH on Friday.
“It is a divine coincidence and a manifestation of God’s perfect plan for the good people of Ghana, hence, making the election day fall on a day, which God has made sacred”, Wontumi stated.
Wontumi went on to explain that the SDA church will be the one to elect Bawumia President via voting for the Vice President on December 7th and honoring their precious worship day.
“Dr Bawumia will be President of Ghana with the help and support of the SDA church” he observed, assuring that the party will forever be grateful to the church at all times.
The team was led in prayer by the church after the Regional Chairman made the request.
They prayed to God to fulfill the NPP’s prayer.
The regional chairman is visiting the several constituencies as part of a regional campaign trip to promote the party’s policies and its standard-bearer, Dr. Bawumia.
Alongside him on the visit are other members of the party leadership, such as Deputy Reg. Organiser Kwaku Atta Sarpong, Beatrice Owusu, Member of the Regional Campaign Team, Andy Owusu, Political Aide to Chairman Wontumi, George Opoku Amponsah, Spokesperson for Wontumi, and others.
The party chairman visited different marketplaces in the constituency with the help of Onyina Acheampong Kwasi Gyamfi, the party’s parliamentary candidate, and his executives.
