In response to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s assertions that he hasn’t congratulated him three years after he was elected president of Ghana following the 2020 elections, former president of Ghana John Dramani Mahama has responded.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, according to John Dramani Mahama, has also kept quiet about the deaths and injuries inflicted on well-meaning Ghanaians during the aforementioned elections.
According to him, the President ought to lower his head in shame for failing to show any compassion for families grieving loved ones or those who will have to live with a disability due to the 2020 elections.
“On a rather sad note, it is unconscionable that three years after these tragic events, our President, Nana Akufo-Addo, has not uttered even a word of sympathy to the bereaved families. The perpetrators of these murders continue to walk as free men and still hold on to positions of authority and power,” he said in a tweet on X.
In the meantime, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo denounced a number of isolated instances of post-election violence in a speech delivered following his declaration as the 2020 election winner.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the isolated incidents of post-election violence in Odododiodo and Techiman that resulted in a few tragic deaths,” the president stated. May their souls rest in peace”.
