Dr. Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama has been confirmed by the National Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Walewale constituency.
At the meeting that was conducted on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, everyone unanimously agreed on this.
This was stated in a news release that the party’s general secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, signed on Wednesday, September 11.
The party stated the decision was arrived at, following the withdrawal of Lariba Zuweira Abudu, who is the current Member of Parliament (MP) and one of the two hopefuls, from the parliamentary primary elections.
“This resulted in Dr. Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama, becoming the sole aspirant for the contest.
“The Party regards in high esteem, the decision of Hon. Zuweira to bow out of the race and appeals to all stakeholders of the Walewale constituency to offer their unflinching support to the candidacy of Dr. Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama,” part of the statement read.
