Justin Kodua Frimpong, the general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has flatly denied reports that the party has approached Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A-Plus, the MP elect for the Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Region, about joining the party in parliament.
Mr. Kodua Frimpong confirmed in a statement that the NPP has not gotten in touch with A-Plus or given anyone permission to speak with him on the party’s behalf about any Parliamentary issues.
“The leadership of the NPP wishes to categorically deny any such reports.
At no point has the party contacted Kwame Asare Obeng or authorized anyone to convey any message to him to caucus with us in Parliament,” the statement read.
In addition to warning against the dissemination of false information that would jeopardize the party’s internal operations and reputation, the general secretary urged the public to reject the allegations.
The announcement comes after much conjecture over the NPP’s attempts to strengthen its parliamentary presence by interacting with people outside of its customary circle.
The party has, however, categorically refuted these rumors and reaffirmed its dedication to carrying out its business in an open and honest manner.
Additionally, the NPP reassured its fans and members that it is committed to pursuing its legislative program with the cooperation of the current members of parliament.
