The Kumasi Technical University’s non-registered students who were ordered by the authorities to defer their schooling will get the opportunity to write their end-of-second-semester exams for the 2022–2023 academic year.

This comes after the university decided to require the students to take a special exam.

According to a statement made by the university, the Academic Board met in an emergency session on August 14, 2023, to discuss deferring the programs of non-registered students.

The Board concluded, per the statement, that “special examinations shall be organised later for non-registered students after the End-of-Second Semester Examinations (2022/2023).”

The modalities for the “special examinations shall be communicated in due course,” but “only affected students who have paid their school fees in full and appropriate penalties shall qualify to write the special examinations.”

All interested students who were impacted were urged to write to their “heads of department” by Tuesday, August 22, 2023, with their student information for consideration.

Affected students who are completing a “industrial attachment/internship are included in this arrangement,” the university added.
