According to the victim, Hon. Baffour Awuah, a well-known journalist for Ezra TV/FM in Kumasi, his belongings and objects in his room, including building supplies, were totally destroyed.

The victim added he was in the sleeping room asleep after he returned home from the funeral and other meetings when his wife detected serious fire outbreak in the house.

After being alerted, Hon Baffour Awuah hurried outdoors, but despite his best efforts and the help of his neighbors, the situation was tragically beyond repair.
