The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has disclosed that effective 31st March 2024, all Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) card driver’s license (drivers license issued before September 2017) will be rendered invalid.
The DVLA has started the replacement of the PVC card driver’s license, so they are urging all holders of such cards to visit the nearest DVLA office to verify and replace the PVC license for a smart card driver’s license.
The exercise does not come with any additional cost. The following are requirements for the replacement of the PVC card driver’s license:
1.Undergo and pass a mandatory eye test at any DVLA accredited eye test center
2.Present the drivers license in person to the nearest DVLA office for replacement
Holders of the PVC card driver’s license who fail to replace their license within the specified period will have to reapply and undergo all required test to obtain a new driver’s license.
