Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has shared some of the lessons he learned from his unsuccessful flagbearer campaign.
“They underestimated us, but we’ve proven to them that we now control one-third of the NPP,” Mr. Agyapong said. “No major decision will be taken without consulting us.”
He claimed that his overconfidence in people was a factor in his defeat by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the position of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer.
“Maybe this is a prelude; I probably placed too much trust in people.” I used to think I was perfect, but after this election, I realize I’m not. Thus, I am learning a lot,” he said at a meeting in the US city of Minnesota to members of his support group We’re for Ken Worldwide.
Kennedy Agyapong, however, encouraged his supporters to hold onto their hope and thanked them for their faith in him.
He played down rumors that the NPP was about to split, saying that his ambition to become the nation’s leader still remains unfulfilled within the party.
Kennedy Agyapong recently disclosed that he is a powerful figure in the NPP and that no important choice can be made without his approval.
In addition to thanking his campaign team, Agyapong emphasized how underappreciated they were before the primary and claimed that their performance showed how powerful they were inside the NPP, controlling one-third of the organization.
