Mark Owen Woyongo, a former Navrongo MP, has passed away.
In a press release released on Thursday, January 18, the Woyongo family said he passed away at the Bank of Ghana Hospital on Wednesday, January 17.
Mark Woyongo left politics after losing the 2016 election.
Mark Woyongo, the former Interior Minister, recently buried his 49-year-old son Kenneth Kwotua.
He was the owner and CEO of Diamond FM, a radio station based in Tamale, and he had previously served as Navrongo’s representative in parliament.
“The head of the Woyongo Family, Mr. Awini Zinge of Nayagnia–Navrongo, wishes to announce with deep sorrow the death of their beloved son and brother, Hon. Mark Owen Woyongo.
“The sad event occurred on Wednesday, 17th January 2024 at the Bank of Ghana Hospital,” an excerpt of the statement said.
