Samuel Atta Akyea, the Member of Parliament for the Akim Abuakwa South constituency, has taken issue with those who hold Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia accountable for the nation’s economic problems.

He said that while the economy is not doing well, it is “cruel” and “unkind” for anyone to blame Dr. Bawumia for the economic problems facing the Akufo-Addo administration.

Mr. Atta Akyea maintained that the vice president was unable to make certain crucial decisions for the nation because of his extremely important advisory role.

In order to turn around the nation’s fortunes, Atta Akyea emphasized that the people must vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate in the December elections.

Dr. Bawumia is the greatest gentleman with “shock absorbers” who is prepared to serve the country, according to the MP for Akim Abuakwa South.

Ghana’s economy has been struggling for some time, and the government is requesting assistance from the International Monetary Fund.

“This is the first time Ghana is going to have a president who is an economist, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. If the problem of Ghana now and people are talking about its seriousness, I agree to a reasonable extent that the economy is not in its best form. When you have a toothache, do you give it to a carpenter or a dentist? Ghana will be in a safer pair of hands when we bring Dr. Bawumia.”
