Ntim Fordjour aircraft drug allegation ‘malicious and baseless’ – GACL

The claims that two flights that touched down at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) were involved in drug trafficking have been categorically refuted by the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).

According to Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the MP for Assin South and the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, the flights were carrying illicit drugs.

However, GACL firmly denied the claims in a statement released on Tuesday, April 8, referencing the findings of extensive investigations.

The business described the functions of the many state entities that operate planes at KIA, making it clear that: National Security, not GACL, issues landing permissions for all arriving aircraft, as does the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

GACL reports that neither aircraft had any evidence of banned substances during the investigations.

Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, the company’s managing director, likewise denied any involvement, categorically declaring that she had “never met or had any communication with Rev. Ntim Fordjour.”

GACL warned against the circulation of false information and advised those making such claims to provide reliable evidence. It issued a warning, stating that it would not think twice about taking legal action to safeguard both its company and its managing director’s reputations.

The public was urged to ignore the allegations in the statement’s conclusion, which called them “malicious and baseless attempts to discredit the company.”
