Following a collision between a fuel tanker and a passenger bus on Wednesday (September 21) near Fumesua on the Accra-Kumasi Highway, at least three people have been confirmed dead.
According to officials, at least 32 other patients are being treated for injuries at several hospitals.
According to reports, both drivers are alive and being looked into by the Ejisu Divisional Police Command.
“According to the municipal police commander and fire operation officer, they received a call at 1am of an accident involving a VIP bus and a gas tanker from Atuabo,” said Samuel Frimpong, the chief executive of Ejisu Municipality, who was present at the site.
Three persons were killed when a gas truck collided with a VIP bus from Asante Mampong traveling to Accra as it was unloading gas at the Sonic gas station. “When I went there in the morning, another person was reported dead, increasing the total to three,” he claimed.
